30 Days of the Dead (2011) Beginning in 2010, every November Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux picks out 30 standout tracks from the Dead's vault that is shared each day of the month. By the end of the month, there is a collection of 30 songs. The "Ramble On Rose" from this collection was recorded on October 21, 1971 at the Eastown Theatre, in Detroit, Michigan.

Dave's Picks Volume 3 is a three-CD set that contains the complete concert recorded on October 22, 1971 at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. This was keyboardist Keith Godchaux’s second performance with the Dead. Ron “Pigpen” McKernan was still in the band, but too ill to tour.

Download Series Volume 3 This album was recorded on October 26, 1971, at The Palestra, in Rochester, New York. It was the fifth show with keyboardist Keith Godchaux. It contains nearly the entire concert from that date except for "Beat It On Down The Line" which was played after "Loser".

Road Trips Volume 3 Number 2 This two-CD set is the tenth in the “Road Trips” series and contains the complete concert recorded on November 15, 1971, at Austin Memorial Auditorium in Austin, Texas. This concert was the 16th concert after Keith Godchaux joined the band on piano. Pigpen did not perform at this or any of the October and November, 1971 concerts due to poor health.

Dave's Picks Volume 26 This three-CD set contains the complete concert recorded on November 17, 1971, at the Albuquerque Civic Auditorium in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It also contains bonus tracks recorded on December 14, 1971, at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This concert was the Dead’s first show in New Mexico. Keyboardist Keith Godchaux had joined the band about a month before.

Dave's Picks Volume 22  This set features the entire concert recorded at the Felt Forum in New York City on December 7, 1971. It also includes some songs recorded at the same venue the previous night. This four concert run at the Felt Forum was the band’s only appearance at that venue. This volume features 2 versions of "Ramble On Rose", one from December 6, and one from December 7, 1971.

This show came out shortly after the release of Wake of the Flood, and saw the group going through extended versions of the material from that album.

Dick's Picks Volume 14 This album was recorded on November 30 and December 2, 1973 at Boston Music Hall in Boston, Massachusetts. It was the last of the Dick's Picks series to be released during the lifetime of the series's namesake tape archivist, Dick Latvala. As with Dick's Picks Volume 1, Donna Jean Godchaux does not appear on this set as she had taken a hiatus from touring with the band due to pregnancy.

Dick's Picks Volume 33 is a four-CD set containing two consecutive complete shows, recorded on October 9 and October 10, 1976 at Oakland Coliseum Stadium in Oakland, California. These two shows were part of the "Day on the Green" series organized by concert promoter Bill Graham. Each of the two Grateful Dead concerts was followed by a concert by the Who. Between the two acts, Wavy Gravy spoke to promote the 1976 "Nobody for President" campaign.

A bonus disc of additional tracks from the dates was included with early copies of the album. The DVD contains footage from the September 16 performance. "Ramble On Rose" comes from the September 16, 1978 show.

The Closing of Winterland This four-CD album contains the complete concert performed on December 31, 1978. The title derives from the fact that it was the last concert in San Francisco's Winterland Arena, which was shut down shortly thereafter. The concert was also released as a two-disc DVD.

Road Trips Volume 3 Number 1 This two-CD set in the ninth volume in the Road Tripsseries, and contains the complete show recorded on December 28, 1979, at the Oakland Auditorium, in Oakland, California. "Ramble On Rose" was included on the bonus disc included with some copies of the album, and was recorded on December 30, 1979 at the same venue.

Dead Ahead

Grateful Dead: Dead Ahead This concert video was recorded at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on October 30 and October 31, 1980, and first released in 1981. An expanded version was released on DVD in 2005.

 

In September and October 1980, the Grateful Dead did a concert tour of shows with three sets each, one acoustic set followed by two electric sets. The acoustic sets were the first the band had performed acoustically since the early '70s, and this run of 25 shows was in honor of the band's 15th anniversary. The music from these shows resulted in two double albums, Reckoning and Dead Set, as well as this concert video. "Ramble On Rose" was recorded on October 31, 1980.

Dave's Picks Volume 8 is a three- CD set that contains the complete concert from November 30, 1980, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. This album is the first officially released Grateful Dead matrix recording. Matrix recordings blend an audience recording with the soundboard recording to add room ambience to the recording.

Crimson White & Indigo This three-CD, one DVD set, contains the complete concert recorded at John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 7, 1989. The concert was the last even held at JFK Stadium, which was condemned by the city six days later and would be demolished in 1992. The previous concert in this tour, performed at Rich Stadium, in Buffalo, New York, on July 4, 1989, was also released as a CD/DVD package titled Truckin' Up To Buffalo.

Formerly the Warlocks

Formerly the Warlocks This six-CD album contains two complete concerts recorded on October 8, and October 9, 1989, at the Hampton Coliseum, in Hampton, Virginia. For the 1989 Hampton Coliseum shows, the band wanted to maintain a low profile, so the venue was not included as part of the regular ticket sale for the East Coast fall tour. Instead, tickets went on sale at local outlets ten days before the show, with the band billed as "Formerly the Warlocks" "Ramble On Rose" comes from the October 9, 1989 show.

Spring 1990 (The Other One) This twenty-three-CD box set contains eight complete concerts recorded during the band's spring 1990 tour. It is the follow-up to the Spring 1990 box set, which contained six other concerts from the same tour. Between these two box sets and the albums Dozin' at the Knick, Postcards of the Hanging, Without a Net, and Terrapin Station (Limited Edition), the entire spring 1990 concert tour has been officially released. "Ramble On Rose" from this collection was recorded on March 18, 1990, at the Hartford Civic Center, in Hartford, Connecticut.

Wake Up To Find OutThis three-CD album contains the complete concert recorded on March 29, 1990, at Nassau Coliseum, in Uniondale, New York. Branford Marsalis sat in for one song in the first set, and then for the entire second set of this show. This same show is also part of the Spring 1990 (The Other One) box set.
